Transcription runs in your browser, on your own computer. Your audio and video files are never uploaded to us.

One exception to be aware of: when you paste a link (Google Drive, Dropbox or a file URL) and that site blocks direct downloads, the file passes through our server on its way to your browser. It is streamed through and not stored.

Transcripts and your edits are saved in your own browser (IndexedDB). We don't receive them — unless you choose to share one.

After a transcription you can rate its accuracy and tick Share this transcript. Only then do we receive that transcript's text, your corrections, its language and length. Never the audio, video or file name. We use shared transcripts only to find and fix transcription mistakes.

To see where the app breaks while it's in testing, it sends anonymous usage events: for example that a transcription started, finished or crashed, how long the recording was, how fast it ran, which mode and export you chose, whether your device has WebGPU, and your browser type. They are tied to a random ID created in your browser, not to your identity, and never include recordings, transcript text or file names.

You can turn these off in the Give feedback panel.

Landing pages also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views, referrers, countries and devices without cookies.

When you send feedback or rate a transcript, we receive what you type or select, a tester code if you enter one, and your browser type.

If you leave a review through a review link, we receive the name you enter, your star rating and what you write. Reviews are published on the reviews page only after we check them, and only if you ticked the box agreeing to that. We don't collect your email or anything else with a review.

Transcripts in your browser are removed by deleting them in the app or clearing this site's data in your browser.

The site is hosted on Vercel. Usage events, feedback, shared transcripts and reviews are stored in Vercel Blob storage. We don't sell data or use it for advertising.
